- LOEX Clearinghouse for Library Instruction - National organization advocating library instruction issues. Includes information on related conferences and workshops, the LOEX newsletter, and best practices in bibliographic instruction.
- Active Learning and Library Instruction - Describes how active learning can be used in teaching information skills.
- Active Learning Odyssey - Report of a workshop on active learning and library instruction. Includes summary of important information relating to the topic and links to relevant references.
- Annotated Selected Bibliography of Full-Text Web-Based Articles Relating to Library Instruction - Selection of Internet resources relating to library instructional issues.
- Bibliography of Print Resources on Library Instruction - Extensive list of print resources relating to information literacy and library instruction divided into ten categories.
- BI-L Mailing List Archive - A searchable archive of message digests from the Bibliographic Instruction Mailing List, BI-L. Postings on the list include topics like: approaches to information literacy, strategies and tools for teaching specific skills and concepts, and managing electronic library classrooms. The BI-L list was discontinued and replaced by the ILI-L list in 2002.

- California Clearinghouse on Library Instruction North Depository - Provides information literacy materials including catalog guides, subject guides, syllabi, tutorials, and tours.

- Instruction Clearinghouse - Collaborative effort between Ohiolink and the Academic Library Association of Ohio which provides access to tutorials and guides for library databases.
- Introducing First-Year Student-Athletes to the Library: The Michigan State University Experience - Explores problems that student-athletes have in using library services on campus. Looks at ways that this issue has been addressed at this institution including outreach and library instruction efforts.

- ACRL/IS Teaching Methods Committee - A collection of resources primarily about the practice of teaching information literacy. Of special interest are pages about computer classroom control systems, textbooks for information literacy courses, and examples of best practices. The Committee is a subsidiary of the Instruction Section (IS) of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).
- Best Practices and Assessment of Information Literacy Programs - Project Plan Prepared for the Association of College and Research Libraries.
- Big6™: The Big6™ Skills Information Problem-Solving Approach - The Big6™ Model is one approach to teaching information literacy skills.
- Building Information Literacy - Subtitled "Strategies for Developing Informed Decision-Makers and Independent Lifelong Learners," this site provides practical guidelines and examples for school librarians and teachers for implementing information literacy in schools (K -12). Includes a description of the learning process for various ages, example lesson plans and projects.
- Critical Thinking in an Online World - Author Debra Jones argues that critical thinking is a key component of information literacy instruction in this conference paper from 1996.
- Directory of Online Resources for Information Literacy (DORIL) - A guide to a variety of resources that relate to the concept of information literacy. Unique features include programs in K-12 education and conference listings. Use caution--some subpages have not been updated regularly.

- Information Literacy. ERIC Digest. - A very brief introduction to the field of information literacy.
- Institute for Information Literacy (IIL) - An initiative to assist librarians in becoming information literacy teachers, leaders and advocates. The 4.5 day "Immersion" program is described. A selection of advocacy resources and readings for new instruction librarians are included.

- TILT - Texas Information Literacy Tutorial - An award-winning, interactive library tutorial, created by the Digital Information Literacy Office at the University of Texas at Austin. TILT has an open publication license that allows other institutions to create customized, local versions of the tutorial.
